Musical Masquerade remixes Rihanna's 'Diamond'

Ranco - Contributed

Producer Musical Masquerade has scored big with his reggae remix of Rihanna's global smash 'Diamonds'.

The remix, which features newcomer Ranco, is currently charting on two major reggae countdowns.

The remix is number 13 on Nikki Z Hot Caribbean Top 20 countdown, and number two on the Gold Reggae Top Ten chart on Galaxy Radio in the UK. It is also number three on DJ Gusma's Top 20 Reggae chart in Italy.

In a release to the media, the producer was quite upbeat about the success of the remix.

"It's a wonderful feeling knowing that the people are receptive to the dancehall interpretation of the song. By adding the dancehall beat and vocals of a talented up- and-coming artiste such as Ranco, this really represents for the Caribbean," said Musical Masquerade.

He added, "Having a song on charts around the world is what every producer, musician or artiste aims for."

The remix of Diamonds has been getting ample airtime on local and overseas airwaves.

"The feedback has been great. Selectors and disc jocks have been giving it really good rotation and they also like the rhythm and the groove. It's a song that females in the party and dance will groove to," the producer outlined.

Musical Masquerade is a relatively new label. It has done a few remixes with the most popular being Freaks, a mash-up remix with Vybz Kartel, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and other artistes.
