American woman issued extradition warrant

An extradition warrant has been issued for a 37-year-old American woman who appeared in the court yesterday.

Deanna Salmon, who is wanted in the United States for conspiracy to distribute heroin, cocaine and marijuana, waived her rights in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

It is reported that Salmon was nabbed at the Norman Manley International Airport on December 15.

The court heard that a warrant was issued in the US on December 12.

Salmon indicated to the court that she wants to see her child who lives in Jamaica; however, Resident Magistrate Georgianna Fraser told the accused that she will have to make her request known to the commissioner of corrections when she goes to the Fort Augusta Adult Correctional Centre.
