Fire, believed to be the work of an arsonist, destroyed a one-bedroom house in Church Lincoln district, Westmoreland on Christmas morning. No one was injured in the blaze.

Reports from the Morgan's Bridge police are that about 1:30 p.m., neighbours saw the house on fire and alerted the police and the fire department. One unit from the Savanna-la-Mar Fire Station responded and conducted cooling-down operations.

Loss is estimated to be just over $1 million. The house and its contents were not insured.

The Morgan's Bridge police are investigating.
