Big change for Richards - Burney boss says winger will take time to adjust to English League |
|||||
Dane Richards - Ricardo Makyn Burnley boss Sean Dyche says new signing Dane Richards will have to adjust slowly to life in the English League and warned it could take some time before he is fully integrated into the first team. Richards joined the English Championship division team from MLS club Vancouver Whitecaps ahead of next month's January transfer window, but is already at the club in an effort to get ready for life in England. Although the 29-year-old is not eligible to play for the club until the window officially opens, he is reported to already be putting in an honest shift behind the scenes in order to be ready in time. Richards arrived at the club last week, where he met new team-mates and had a look around the grounds. "He is here to give himself a look at the environment, get himself familiar with the place and the faces around as he slowly beds himself in for what comes next," Dyche told UK publication Lancashire Telegraph. "It's a big change for him in a lot of ways, so it will have to be slowly but surely." Richards, who, has long expressed an interest in playing in Europe, spent only one season at the Vancouver Whitecaps after being traded by the New York Red Bulls in the 2011-2012 season. |
