Cops probe two murders

Police investigators in St Catherine are searching for persons responsible for the gun slaying of two men in the parish in separate incidents over the weekend.

Those killed have been identified as Danail Miller, 22, unemployed of Fairfield Road in Spanish Town and Norman Simpson, a 40-year-old contractor from Old Harbour, both in St Catherine.

Reports are that about 12:05 a.m. yesterday, Miller who is called 'Papa' was walking along Fairfield Road, when he was attacked by two gunmen who shot him in his head and upper body.

About 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Simpson was sitting in his car with a female near the Bourkesfield housing scheme in Old Harbour Bay. It is reported that a group of gunmen surrounded the vehicle and robbed Simpson at gunpoint. Before leaving he was shot in the head.

The men escaped in the community but the female was not physically hurt. Simpson later succumbed to the injuries.

The St Catherine Major Investigation Task Force is conducting a probe into both killings.
