M-Gee looks forward to more success in 2013

For M-Gee, 2012 was a year of great success.

The fast-rising US-based dancehall act made his mark on the local and international dancehall scene with a slate of hits, including the controversial No Tail, Back Pocket Hail and Prefer Cheap & Clean during the year.

"This year has been a great year for me; having scored multiple hits in places like Philly, New York and Florida, things have been looking really great for me. My name is out there now among the top dancehall acts almost anywhere you go in the States," he said.

Without a doubt, he is certainly one of the hottest acts on the Philadelphia dancehall scene, and he is also making inroads in the local market.

Having established himself to a great extent in the US,market among dancehall fans, M-Gee also did a lot of work locally this year in a bid to secure a foothold on the local music scene.

"I have been doing a lot of work in Jamaica as well as in the US, and it's paying off, too. Everytime I come home, anywhere I go, the people know me and they love my music. I plan to work even harder to build my name locally in the coming year," he said.

The trendy singjay who is also a brand ambassador for VTH Clothing in the US, made another big step towards achieving popularity in Jamaica when he performed on Sting 2012 inside Jam World in Portmore on December 26.

Delivering songs like Prefer Cheap & Clean, Back Pocket Hail and No Tail, he certainly made his mark on the Sting crowd which gave him numerous 'forwards' for each song. Having made a good impression on his first major outing locally, M-Gee is looking forward to performing on a number of major events in Jamaica later this year.
