PGA Preparatory celebrated Christmas with a recital and play which went under the theme 'Love Came Down at Christmas' at the Portmore Gospel Assembly Church, located at 66 Portmore Drive, Independence City, in the municipality recently.

The children danced, recited and dramatised their way into the hearts of the audience.

A main talking point of the evening was the PGA staff's play about the birth of Jesus Christ. The entertainment value and the message were compelling and the audience loved it. The school choir sang Christmas carols, while, the dancers once again excited with their angelic moves.

Also making contributions to the event were the school's Spanish and Sign Language groups, the Recorder group, the Kindergartens and the Senior Citizens group - a welcome sight for the concert. Meanwhile, Dorita Hall, the principal of the school, did the official welcome.

The guest speaker was Reverend Conrad Reid, the chairman of the school board. Reid spoke about God being the "light of the world". He quoted various scriptures from the Bible to emphasise that the Lord is the light for this "dark world".

He mentioned that Jamaica and other global economies have been failing and the "world is experiencing dark days". However, he reassured that: "Through our days of darkness, Jesus is here to strengthen us."
