A man who was before the court two months ago, was back in the same position for a similar charge on Friday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court. Charged with larceny from the person and possession of an offensive weapon is Kevin Mattis. He entered a not guilty plea to both charges. The court was told that Mattis was given bail two months ago for larceny from the person where it is alleged that he stole $20,000. This time around, Mattis was back before Resident Magistrate Lorna Shelly-Williams, who made sure to remind the accused she remembered him clearly. The court heard that on the day in question Mattis grabbed a gold chain, valued at $120,000, from the complainant's neck. Mattis was remanded until January 21 when the matter will again be mentioned. |
