Suspects link to businessman's murder detained |

Police say they have detained two suspects and are searching for several others in connection with Saturday's gruesome killing of a businessman in downtown Kingston. Businessman Melvin Chung, who reportedly owns and operates several Total gas stations, was shot dead by gunmen, who made off with two of his licensed firearm police reported. A third gun was found by the police in Chung's vehicle. Reports are that the shooting transpired about 1:30 p.m. on East Street, in full view of several people. no motive The police have not yet arrived at a motive for the killing, however, one man was held shortly afterwards. Another was later picked up and now police investigations have identified several other suspects. Head of Kingston Central Police Division, Superintendent Steve McGregor, told THE STAR that the firearms taken from Chung were a .38 revolver and a 9mm Browning pistol. "We have some good leads because of our relationship with the people in the area. We have picked up more suspects as we continue to investigate," Supt McGregor said The names of the persons in custody were not released pending further investigation.
