DREAD HELD HOSTAGE IN PIGPEN - Allegedly caught with bags of stolen fruits

A St Catherine dreadlocked male who was allegedly caught stealing fruit from a yard was given a rude awakening after he was placed in a pigpen on Sunday.

The Star was told that the man was held near Guanoboa Vale, St Catherine, with several bags, of naseberries.

He was held on Sunday afternoon and after being given a sound flogging, was put among pigs in a sty.

During his unpleasant experience, the man was reportedly forced to eat a specially made sandwich.

He was subsequently handed over to the Guanoboa Vale Police Station, and was charged with praedial larceny.

Some residents said the man was one of the persons who reportedly preyed upon fruits, ground provisions and animals in the community.

The man is scheduled to appear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
