Las Vegas based reggae artiste Ras Kronik has hit pay dirt with the remix of the single The Real Thing. "I feel great about the song being on the chart. I hope it will keep on climbing and let's see what happens from there," Ras Kronik explained in a media release. The Real Thing moved up three places to number twenty three on the latest New York Reggae chart. Asked what made him decide to remix the track, Ras Kronik said "My decision to remix the song came after John Francis of Dance Beat Records heard it and asked if I would be interested in a remix of the song for a more commercial release. I told him yes and that I would be interested to hear what it sounded like. I liked what I heard, and we decided to work with it." Ras Kronik who is originally from St Ann, migrated to Las Vegas, Nevada USA a few years ago. "Career wise things have been great over the years even though it has had its ups and downs. Even with the politics of the music industry, I just try to keep my head up and push forward to accomplish what it is that I want to accomplish," said Kronik. The artiste is hoping to capitalize on the attention of the remix of The Real Thing by releasing several follow up singles. Among them are Ghetto Life, The Way to Life, and Feelings. For his forthcoming album, Ras Kronik has enlisted the production and musical talents of former UB40 horns man Patrick Anthony. |
