Male lovers damage store - Arrested by cops after fight

A fight between two men, who claimed to be lovers, interrupted business at a phone store in St Andrew on Thursday resulting in damage to the property.

THE STAR understands that a glass case valued at $200,000 was destroyed during the fracas. The two men were charged by the police after calm was restored.

The men, both from Corporate Area addresses, have since been charged with malicious destruction of property. One was further charged with unlawful wounding.

Information reaching THE STAR indicates that about 5 p.m., one man entered the establishment and allegedly saw the other in the company of another man and became enraged.

Following a quarrel both got into a fight.

Our news team further understands that the men were soon targeted by other customers who overheard them arguing about their past relationship with each other.

Police were quick on the scene to diffuse the situation and took the fighting men into custody. They were later charged.
