A man who beat the mother of his child after he saw her talking to another man was fined $10,000 in court yesterday.

Wayne Blake, of a Corporate Area address, pleaded guilty to the charge of assault occasioning bodily harm in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

The complainant, who is the mother of Blake's child, told the court that the accused attacked her after he saw her speaking to a man.

She said Blake asked her if the man she was speaking to was her man to which she said she responded yes, and Blake boxed her in the face.

Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey berated Blake, and told him to pay a fine of $10,000 or spend 30 days in prison.
