The Trelawny police say they are investigating the shooting death of 26-year-old Xavier Lewis of Duncans in the parish.

Reports are that Lewis and another man were shot by gunmen about 1 p.m. yesterday.

It is reported that the shooting happened about 100 metres away from the Duncans Police Station and comes four days after eight-year-old British girl Imani Green was shot dead and two other people injured in a nearby community.

Witnesses reportedly heard loud explosions and upon investigation the two men were found with gunshot wounds.

It is reported that Lewis and the other man were taken to the hospital where Lewis succumbed to his injuries.
