Christian Pen will play Old Harbour Bay United and Dunbeholden go up against Albion United at the Prison Oval in the end-of-round finals of the LIME St Catherine Football Association (SCFA) Major League and Division One competitions, respectively, after the latest round of matches at the weekend.

When the teams meet on January 20, Christian Pen will be hoping to avenge last weekend's 3-1 defeat at the hands of Old Harbour Bay that saw the latter finish atop Zone A with 16 points ahead of Tru-Juice FC (14 points).

Old Harbour Bay coach Linval Dixon praised his team's performance against Christian Pen on the weekend, but is wary of them as the day for the final approaches.

"They are a good team, but we stuck to our game plan and gave a workmanlike performance," he said of Old Harbour Bay's win over Christian Pen.

revenge

Dixon, who last coached Portmore United in the Premier League, expects Christian Pen to come to the end-of-round final gunning for revenge.

"Definitely so," he said. "It's a final, and when you're going into a final you know they're coming to win but we're ready for the challenge. It's a final and we will prepare ourselves to go out there and give it our best shot."

Despite the loss, Christian Pen remained Zone B and overall leaders with 17 points. Coach Lenworth Reckford said for the mid-season final, his team intends to reverse its fortunes against Old Harbour Bay. He blamed poor marking and poor shooting for his team's demise last weekend, but promised an improved performance the next time the teams meet.

"Things will be totally different come the finals," he said. "We now understand their game plan and will adjust ourselves to deal with them."

Reckford revealed that the Christian Pen team will be a different unit when it runs out for the finals.

"We will be making a couple changes and working on our execution in front of goal," he said. "Hopefully, we will also have our trump card, players that they have never seen before."

Albion secured their place in the Division One mid-season final after stopping Blackpool 1-0. The win pushed Albion to 21 points, six clear of second-place Dunbeholden who were held 0-0 by Travellers.

Albion coach Daine Brown is expecting a good match against Dunbeholden, a team he says will be coming to win.

"It's another game, another football match, but I am anticipating them coming to fight. They are not going to come and lie down and give us the game," he said. "So my guys are trying to get ready for the game."

Winners of the Major League final that begins at 7 p.m. will take home $60,000, while the runners-up will pocket $30,000. The winners of the Division One clash will receive $45,000. The losing team will come away with $20,000.
