GC Foster College to be honouree at Central Hurdles & Relays

The organisers of Central Hurdles and Relays announced yesterday that GC Foster College has been selected to be the honouree for this year's renewal.

A presentation will be made at the meet which will be held on Saturday, January 19 at the GC Foster College, beginning at 9 a.m.

Jerry Holness, chairman of the organising committee, said the college had been selected in recognition of the tremendous work that it has done in preparing the country's coaches, and the contribution that the coaches have made to nation building by virtue of the results of their charges at the national, regional, international and Olympic levels.

The principal, Edward Shakes, on hearing that the college had been selected, said: "We are indeed pleased to know that the we have been selected to be honoured in this fashion right here at home where the meet will be held and where our trained coaches will be on show."

Last year's honouree was the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association.
