Special constable commits suicide

André Williams, STAR Writer

The Island Special Constabulary Force (ISCF) has been plunged into mourning following unexpected news that one of its members was found dead, on Sunday night, THE STAR has learnt.

Information reaching THE STAR is that a 24-year-old special constable succumbed to injuries he received allegedly from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A source close to the deceased, informed THE STAR that the dead policeman was having relationship problems, of which the source claimed to be knowledgeable.

Our news team contacted both the ISCF and ISCF Association to gather additional information on the deceased policeman, however, colleagues kept mum on the matter and directed our queries to the Constabulary Communication Network to no avail.

The cop, whose name is being withheld, was reportedly found with a single wound to his head.

Police reports are that he was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A police constable who knew the deceased officer told THE STAR, "He's a cool youth enuh, good with the ladies, dem man deh a gyalis.

I am in shock now just as when I got the news of his death, he never seemed to have any problems so with some more investigation lets see what can be brought to light."

THE STAR was informed that the dead policeman was attached to the Agro Enforcement team with the ISCF which operates from the Harman Barracks headquarters in Kingston.

The police say investigations are ongoing.
