Police in St Maarten conducted a search on Wednesday for Jamaican Annmarie 'Suki' Lynch, who has been missing since December 22, 2012.

Lynch, 41, a salad chef from Negril, Westmoreland, has been living on St Maarten for about three years and for the past year has been working at Pineapple Pete's, a popular restaurant in the Dutch-Caribbean island.

Chief Prosecutor Hans Mos issued a statement on Wednesday claiming that police, acting on information, came up empty-handed following the operation in the Cay Bay area.

He said the police had been following up on all leads in an effort to locate Lynch and were committed to continuing their search to find the missing woman. He said based on information, foul play may have been involved in the disappearance.

Lynch's daughter Sanya Bennett, flew in from Jamaica last week as well as Junior Lynch, the missing woman's brother and Latoya, her sister, who both flew in from the US.

Mos met with members of the family who were informed about what the police have been doing.

Lynch was believed to have been last seen by her boyfriend Valindo Wallace who picked her up after she left work about 10 p.m. on December 22. Wallace said he picked Lynch up some distance from where she worked, took her home then headed home and has not seen her since.
