Christopher Thomas, STAR Writer WESTERN BUREAU: The four defendants in the 2012 murder of Salt Spring, St James, resident Rodell Hall will have a preliminary hearing in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court next June. Clyde and Nesta Morlese of Patty Hill, Hanover, and Sheldon Russell from Salt Spring, had their bails extended until June 12. Their co-accused Damaine Samuels was remanded. The four are charged in connection with Hall's shooting death on February 4, 2012, after the taxi in which he was a passenger was reportedly ambushed by gunmen about 2:10 a.m. along the Salt Spring main road. The passengers were ordered out of the car and Hall attempted to escape, but he was shot and later died. The court was told the prosecution's case file is now complete and ready for preliminary inquiry. Resident Magistrate Sandria Wong-Small set the case for two days - June 12 and 13 - and extended the bails of Russell and the Morlese brothers. Samuels was remanded as he still has a matter pending before the Western Regional Gun Court and is remanded in that case. |
