Gareth Davis Sr, STAR Writer

The community of Anchovy in Portland is now in mourning following the suspected drowning of a fisherman on Tuesday.

Kavoy Flynn, 19, was reportedly at sea with two of his colleagues on the Morant Cays when the incident happened.

Police sources have reported that the three were diving using the aid of a compressor with hose attached and extended to dozens of feet below the water surface, when it was discovered that one of the hose being used by Flynn was severed.

According to the police, Flynn reportedly floated to the surface and was assisted by his colleagues into the boat. They immediately tried to administer first aid but was unsuccessful as the youth did not respond. During that time, Flynn was reportedly foaming frothy substance from the mouth and nostril.

According to the police, it is alleged that Flynn's mouth was locked tight, which prevented him from breathing. He was later rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body was later moved to the morgue.

Since the untimely passing of the youth, community residents are having a torrid time coming to grips with his death, as he was well loved throughout the area.
