The stewards of the Jamaica Racing Commission have imposed fines and also suspended several jockeys for improper riding, arising from inquiries held on Tuesday at the Winchester Road offices of the Jamaica Racing Commission.

Among the suspended riders are four apprentices. They include Renardo McNaughton, who picked up three races days and a $5,000 fine for careless riding aboard THE LEGACY in the 10th and final race on Saturday, January 5, causing interference to PEGASUS in the vicinity of the half mile, resulting in the disqualification of his mount. The suspension will take effect on Saturday, February 2.

Apprentices Orayne Sewell, Prince Holder and Davidan Robinson also incurred the wrath of the stewards.

Sewell was suspended for two race days and fined $5,000 for careless riding aboard WITHOUT A TRACE in the fifth race on Saturday, January 12, this for intimidation and interference caused to SUNSHINE CITY in the last 300 metres. His suspension will also commence on February 2.

Holder, who is popularly called 'Daggerman', was stood down for one race day and fined $5,000 for foul riding aboard HATTERAS in the fourth race on Wednesday, December 19, his mount causing interference to CLASSICAL PLEASURE leaving the 200-metre point. Holder will not ride on February 2.

ONE-DAY SUSPENSION

Robinson, who rode the winning horse CRAZY RACER in the seventh race on January 12, was suspended for one race day and fined $5,000 for the interference caused to SUPER CAT approaching the 300-metre point. His suspension takes effect on Wednesday, January 30.

In addition, jockey Rayan Wilson was suspended for two race days and fined $5,000 for careless riding aboard THE PRIMEMERLINIAN in the fourth race on October 6, 2012; Chalrick Budhai banned for four race days for foul riding aboard MADAM RODHAM on December 19, while Ansley Dancel who rode CONFLICTOFINTEREST in the seventh race on Boxing Day, picked up three race days and a $5,000 fine for careless riding, his mount causing interference to SHEZA EASY LOVER a furlong out. His suspension commences tomorrow.
