Rasbert Turner, STAR Writer

The Spanish Town police yesterday detained four men and a woman after they were allegedly caught with a truck load of oranges that was said to be stolen from Trade Winds Citrus.

Those charged are Georianna Foster, Ewart Edwards, Tyrone Davis, Steve Wallace and Christian Clarke all of St Catherine addresses.

It was revealed that about 6 a.m., the accused were seen picking oranges at Bybrook, St Catherine.

A report was made to the police and the Leyland truck with the five accused was intercepted in Spanish Town.

When it was searched, 169 bags of oranges valued at $338,000 were discovered. The four males and the female were held. The owners came and identified the oranges.

They will answer to larceny charges in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court next week.

On January 6, two men were reportedly held in Bog Walk with 143 bags of oranges in a truck.

They are still in police custody.
