Up to press time last night, the police were still searching for a man in connection with the shooting death of four-year-old Rushaun 'Ricardo' Burford, in Allman Town, Kingston, yesterday. Burford's grandmother was injured in the incident. Police are seeking Marlon 'Shooty' McMillan, in relation to the incident. "The police and the community are working assiduously to bring the perpetrator to justice. We are hopeful that this will happen in a short space of time," head of Kingston Central Police Division, Superintendent Steve McGregor said last night. Reports said shortly after 7 a.m., an argument developed between the alleged shooter and Burford's grandmother over water. Police said the man left, returned with a gun and started firing wildly. Burford, a student at the Salvation Army Allman Town Basic School, was hit in the face and died on the spot. The grandmother was shot in the thigh. She is in hospital. |
