22-y-o held for illegal firearm and ammo

Launtia Cuff, Star Writer

Creagian Earl was remanded in custody on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition in the Black River Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Earl, 22 of a St Elizabeth address, was found with the firearm and live rounds after it is alleged that he fled from the police after being approached for behaving suspiciously.

However, Earl claims that he had found the gun and was approaching an officer to return the weapon when he was accosted.

Resident Magistrate Sonia Wint-Blair ordered that he remains in police custody pending inquires that would help determine her decision on whether or not he be offered bail.
