Rasbert Turner, STAR Writer A St Catherine driver who caused injuries to eight children during a vehicular accident has been charged with careless driving. He is Suith Gordon, 35-year-old of Spanish Town, St Catherine. According to Sergeant Stanley Gardener of the St Catherine North Traffic Department, the police will be doing further investigations. "We realised that a number of motorists are transporting children without being licensed to do so. We will be working with a view to address that concern," Gardener said. Reports are that about 6:30 a.m., Gordon was conveying students in a Toyota Hiace along Brunswick Avenue. He was heading towards Spanish Town in a line of traffic. Upon reaching the vicinity of the Willowdene group of schools, Gordon reportedly turned right and collided with a car heading in the opposite direction. The impact resulted in extensive damage to both vehicles. He is to appear in court on February 18 to answer to the charge. |
