Accused released on $200,000 bail |

Delroy Patrick was released on $200,000 bail on the charge of wounding with intent when he appeared before the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. The court heard that on February 1, at 7 a.m., in the community of Treasure Beach, St Elizabeth, the accused attacked Ricky Banton with a machete. The court further heard that Banton's hand was chopped in the attack when he tried to shield his head which Patrick aimed for with the weapon. borrowed marl According to police reports, Patrick's girlfriend's brother went to the home of the accused to borrow some marl to complete work he was doing on a nearby house. After making more than one trip, Banton was told not to return as Patrick said he was not running a hardware store. The court was told that Banton returned to the premises to find the gate padlocked. He claimed that Patrick approached the gate with the machete and attacked him. Banton was taken to the hospital where he was admitted up to the time the case was mentioned in court. |
