"Not today, no bail today", was Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey's reply to the man who has been accused of killing his mother in her sleep at her home in Hope Village, in Kingston last year. The accused Keno Johnson, 29, was further remanded for psychiatric evaluation when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. He is to return to court on May 7, when the matter will be mentioned. Johnson, who has been complaining bitterly about his discomfort in lock-up, again lamented as he did on his previous court appearances, about being harassed by small insects. Allegations are that the accused threw a knife in his mother's back, and cut her several times over her body before using the knife to stab her in the left eye. Dead is 78-year-old Veronica Wizzard, retired higgler. It is reported that Johnson and his mother had an argument, and it is alleged that he waited until she was asleep to attack her. The court heard that Johnson, who was living with his mother at the time of the incident, waited until daybreak before he reported the incident to the police. He was arrested and subsequently taken home where his mother's body was found wrapped in a sheet.
