Rave reviews for 'thousand block a day' video

Since he premiered the video for his new single, Thousand Block A Day, last week on Hype TV, Montego Bay-based artiste Rickey Teetz has been getting rave reviews from music critics and music fans alike.

"I have been getting a great response to the video, nuff people text in live on Hype and show support for the song because it pays tribute to the resilience of all Jamaicans," he said.

Thousand Block A Day, produced by Platinum Wire on the Falmouth Town rhythm, has been creating a big buzz in the west, signalling to the world that Teetz is ready to flip the dancehall game on its ear.

"Anywhere it play, it get a 'forward' because is a positive song on a bumpy fast-paced rhythm, it gi a nice vibes, and now that the video has been released, the promotion is about to amp up to the next level because it is now playing on HITZ, ZIP and IRIE," he said.

The music video's themes of hard work and dedication in the face of tough almost impossible odds, is like a spiritual beacon for anyone who has ever struggled to achieve their goals. The video is now in regular rotation on CVM, Hype, and TVJ, and the single is available for sale on all major digital retail outlets such as Amazon.com and iTunes.

Teetz is known for his brilliant wordplay, offbeat metaphors and his undeniable swag which have made him a popular figure out west. He first gained national recognition with his singleLife Goes On, which peaked at number one on the CVM Hitlist and generated quality airplay in several countries. The song, which speaks about the upliftment of life regardless of obstacles,is a central theme of Rickey Teetz repertoire of songs.

The Poverty Life video continues to get regular rotationon RE TV, Hype TV, MD TV, CVM Plus and several other local and international stations.

Born Ricardo McLean in 1983, he grew up in the Montego Bay community of Rose Heights, where he is popularly called Rickey and Teetz. He embraced music at an early age. Rickey Teetz has performed at places such has Magaritaville, Britjam Fantasy Island, Live on The water- front, Wakesfield Jerkfest, Jamfest and dozens of other shows. He was a featured act on several shows in Montego Bay over the Christmas holidays.
