Firearms, ammo seized |

|
Two firearms and several rounds of ammunition were seized in two separate incidents in Clarendon on Monday. According to reports from the May Pen Police, the first seizure occurred about 12:07 p.m. in Canaan Heights in the parish. Reports are that a team of officers were on operation in the area, when a man was accosted and searched. A 9mm semi-automatic Taurus pistol and fourteen 9mm rounds were seized. The man was taken into custody; however, his identity is being withheld pending further investigations. The second weapon, a 9mm Taurus Pistol, was seized in Water Lane in Lionel Town. Information received is that about 7:30 p.m., a team of officers stopped and searched a Toyota Corolla motor car and the firearm, with fourteen 9mm rounds, were seized. The five occupants of the motor car were held in connection with the find. Investigations are continuing in both cases. |
