The St Catherine South police yesterday recovered a number of vehicles that were believed to have been stolen after they were called to a location where cars were being scrapped. It is reported that about 9 a.m., the police were alerted to a Honda Accord being scrapped along a section of the Caymanas Bay Road off the Nelson Mandela Highway. The police responded and started to comb the immediate surroundings. The team proceeded deeper in the wooded area and came upon a makeshift chop shop. There were eight vehicles all scrapped. Police identified the vehicles as three Suzuki Grand Vitara one Nissan AD Wagon, one Nissan Expert and two Nissan Tiida. Investigators said most of the vehicles were reported stolen in December. The area was very secluded and as a result the assistance of a front-end loader had to be used to access the location. No arrests were made, however, the Central Village police are investigating . |
