Two persons were shot, one fatally and the other rushed to the hospital, by unknown assailants inside the Escape Nightclub along Knutsford Boulevard in New Kingston on Monday morning.

Dead is Howayne Sinclair, 28, a security guard of Central Village in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

An eyewitness, whose vehicle had been shot at, explained that a dispute had allegedly occurred inside the club between a female worker and the night manager.

Evidence of blood was seen outside the scene.

The eyewitness further claimed that at some point the female worker left and returned with her boyfriend along with another man, which resulted in the night manager being shot and rushed to hospital and the security guard killed.

Head of the Major Investigation Task Force, Superintendent Michael Phipps, who was present on the scene, confirmed that there had been a dispute involving a worker at the club and that a security guard had been killed and the night manger shot and injured.

An investigation has now been launched into the incident.
