As a growing producer, Sanjay 'DJ Freeze' Pennant said his Mandeville-based record label, Zionnoiz Freeze Records, has landed a major achievement by producing a song for Bounty Killer.

Pennant said his label is on the verge of releasing the 'Gal Boss' rhythm that features Bounty Killer and members of his Alliance Next Generation (ANG), Iyara, Calado and K-Queens.

"Initially, it was supposed to be a single for Bounty but when I went there the vibe was so right. So I just say I am gonna do a full ANG project," Pennant said, noting that the song was officially released on iTunes on February 1.

"The reception is great, so far, to the teaser. Everybody a call mi and a seh dem want it fi play. It nuh officially release yet, so you can just imagine the impact it's going to have on the industry."

Not only has the reception been good so far, Pennant said working with Bounty Killer has been a major achievement.

"It's a great accomplishment to work with Bounty and his protégé. It's another milestone. This is just the beginning," he told THE STAR.

However, this is not the only achievement for Pennant, as he said he co-produced Konshens' Bounce Like A Ball with ZJ Ice. He said he has also worked with Macka Diamond, Spice, T.O.K, Laza Morgan, Charly Black, Laden, Ryno, Serani, Masicka, Vybz Kartel and others.

He said he also plans to release another project, the 'Sparkling' rhythm, done with ZJ Sparks. That will be followed by another project, 'Fantasy Fling', also with ZJ Sparks.

However, with a record label based in Mandeville, Pennant said there are challenges for him and his label partners, Manuel Sieber and Norris Griffiths. They do not have as much access to the artistes as producers in the corporate area do.

He said there are also difficulties as it relates to voicing artistes and promoting material. Luckily, he said, "we still get our music out".
