Cops seize $11 million worth of cocaine

Members of the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division (TCND) yesterday seized approximately 11.15 kilograms (approximately 24lb) of cocaine along Featherbed Lane, St John's Road, Spanish Town.

The team from the TCND was conducting an operation when they intercepted a blue Toyota Wish motor car. The motor car was searched and packages containing a powdery white substance resembling cocaine were found. The powdery white substance was later tested and confirmed to be cocaine with a street value of $11 million.

One person, a taxi operator from Palmer's Cross in Clarendon, was taken into custody.

Further investigation is being conducted by the TCND.
