Patrons attending this Sunday's staging of Double Shotts will experience a mixture of 'extreme wet and dry' during the beach party at Sugarman's Beach in Hellshire, St Catherine.

For those who don't want to get wet, there will be a dry area. The party goes from 5 p.m. to midnight.

Lascelles Limited brands, Conquering Lion, and Magnum, are the main sponsors of the event.

The musical presentation will feature Flava Unit with Badda Bling and Little Richie, Chromatic, Six Killer, and DJ Wah Wa.

an annual event

The original location for the party was LIME Golf Academy, New Kingston. The first event staged was November 12, 2011.

It was originally intended to be an annual event, but the promoters couldn't afford the Double Shotts name to fade, so they decided to whip it back at the crowd on April 1, last year, at Port Henderson Beach, which was successful. Another edition was held on April 29, at the same venue. This was when Tony Matterhorn declared that the event should be a monthly one.

new location

The Double Shotts promoters moved into the summer season on a high by having Double Shotts first water party at a new location, Stones Jerk Hut and Lounge, near Southborough, Portmore, having a total of three parties at this venue.

The new home is Sugarman's beach, and they went dry for a total of four months, changing the theme every month.

However, the wet edition was added "because we realised, due to the cold weather, the turnout was not what we expected. We are now doubling up everything, where we have an ultimate two in one party 'Wet and Dry', food and drink inclusive, for Sunday's staging," one of the promoters told The WEEKEND STAR.
