Two men accused of inflicting injuries to another man in an incident in the Pavilion Mall, St Andrew, were remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magis-trate's Court on Wednesday. Charged with unlawful wounding is Abebe Walcott, while Delmer Smith is charged with attempted murder. Allegations are that on January 8, about 11 a.m., the complainant was in the mall when he was approached by Smith who stabbed him several times. The complainant, the court heard, tried to escape but was later accosted by Walcott, who is a security guard at the mall. Here, the court further heard, he was stabbed and beaten with a baton. Walcott denied the allegations brought against him and told Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey that he has never seen Smith or the complainant before. All parties involved in the incident are expected to return to court on March 12. |
