Bolstered by the addition of former Manchester High star Omar McLeod, Kingston College, with all the members of the 4x100 metres relay back this year, will be the team to beat in one of the marquee events at tomorrow's Gibson Relays.

The defending champions will head into the meet in fairly good standing after scoring a close victory at the Milo Western Relays over an Odail Todd-led Green Island team, with a time of 40.28 seconds and Green Island recording 40.37 seconds. The Odean Skeen-led Wolmer's also went under 41 seconds, clocking 40.59 seconds to finish third.

In the 4x400m relay, Manchester High will be hoping to take back-to-back victories and showed at the Camperdown Classics, two weeks ago, that they will be a force to be reckoned with. Despite losing McLeod from their last year team, they raced to an impressive 3:11.64 to win the event and finished ahead of a determined St Jago (3:12.91).

Kingston College will be the team to beat in the 4x800m relay, with the likes of newcomers Brian Golding and Brian Smith in their line-up. However, Holmwood Technical, Bellefield and St Jago cannot be written off and any of these teams could surprise the Western Relays winner.
