Enquiry ordered into stolen traffic ticket book case

A probation enquiry was ordered in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court recently, into a matter involving a 24-year-old bus conductor who stole a traffic ticket book from a police officer, who had the book strapped to his motorcycle.

Charged with simple larceny is Andre Sinclair of a Kingston address.

The court heard that on January 20 about 9 a.m., while conducting on a coaster bus, Sinclair saw the motorcycle of the policeman, who was directing traffic. He removed the traffic ticket book from the motorcycle, returned to the bus and allegedly threw the book through the window.

On January 26, the police saw the bus and the bus conductor involved in the incident. He ran off but was later apprehended and charged.

Sinclair is to return to the court on March 6, when he is expected to be sentenced.
