Red Stripe Premier League leaders Harbour View failed to take full advantage of second-place Portmore being out of action, until tonight, as they were held 0-0 by struggling Tivoli Gardens at the Edward Seaga Stadium yesterday. The Stars of the East, who moved to 52 points, could have extended their lead over Portmore United to 13 points, but currently with only an 11-point cushion, could see their lead trimmed to eight points should Portmore take full points against Waterhouse at Ferdie Neita Park, with a handful of games remaining. drift clear Tivoli were in need of full points in their effort to drift clear of the relegation zone. However, the west Kingston team fell even further to ninth place, after moving to 29 points, overtaken by Humble Lion, who defeated Montego Bay United 2-0 at Effortville. Tivoli were, however, given a reprieve of sorts when Highgate, who could have closed to within a point of the former champions, went down 2-1 to Arnett Gardens at Drax Hall and stayed 11th on 24. The win also saw Arnett make up ground as they moved to 40 points and to fifth place. Third-place Boys' Town also made use of the slip-up by the leaders as they moved to within a point of second place, Portmore, on 40, and 12 behind Harbour View following a 4-2 win over Sporting Central Academy. A difficult start to the third round continues for the previous round finalists Cavalier, as they went four consecutive games without a win, following a 0-0 draw with bottom-place Savannah.
