|||||
G. Mandinguh - Contributed Reggae artiste D. Mandinguh is currently enjoying much attention with a catchy uptempo single titled Sell The Jeep. However, the soft-spoken singer is concerned that some people think the song is a political jab at the government's work programme called JEEP and would like to clear the air about this issue. "I have been getting a lot of calls about Sell The Jeep since Ron Muschette began playing it on IRIE FM. A lot of people think I am throwing words at the government but that's not the case." G. Mandinguh, whose real name is Gamal Mandingo Atkins, explained that the idea for the song came to him some time ago when he was experiencing some serious personal difficulties, that forced him to contemplate selling everything he owned in order to pursue his musical dreams. challenges "I wrote Sell the Jeep because of some really tough challenges that I was facing at one point in my life. It was a time when things were very rough for me at work and I wanted to just sell everything I owned and just go all out with my music career," said G. Mandinguh who is also an interlocking stone paving contractor. G. Mandinguh is also enjoying attention stateside with another single called Her Groove. Since its release over a month ago, it has been added to the playlist of a number of US radio stations, including WDGR in Tampa, Florida, Power 92 in Memphis, Tennessee, Pure Sounds radio in Chicago and Choice 107 in South Carolina. G. Mandinguh says with all that is happening for him musically and otherwise, he is now in a much better state of mind and he is looking towards a very bright future in the music business. "Things are much better now; thank God I didn't have to sell my Jeep to achieve the success I am now enjoying. I know it takes a lot of hard work to make it in the music business, so I'm doing all that I have to do to ensure even greater success in the future." G. Mandinguh is currently working on a number of projects, including his debut album as well as two music videos that are slated to be released later this month. |
