Star Tell Me Pastor

Should I send her more money

Dear Pastor,

I have a friend who lives in Jamaica. For the past 15 years, she has not worked. I sent her to school to do office and computer studies which cost me over $30,000.

She still did not find a job so I sent her to do early childhood studies. She graduated in November 2012. It cost me an additional $20,000. She is still unemployed. Today, she wants more money.

Do you think that those of us who are abroad are spoiling these people who are in Jamaica?

Dear M.,

If you believe that you have done your best to help your friend and you cannot do anymore, you should tell her so. That should not cause the friendship to break up. She should not be allowed to use you. And you should not give the impression that you are a wealthy person and that you are willing to grant every request that is made of you.
