Olympic 110m hurdles bronze medallist Hansle Parchment will join two-time Olympic 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce as the faces of GraceKennedy, after an announcement by the company's CEO Don Wehby yesterday.
Wehby, who was speaking at a press conference at Terra Nova ahead of the March 12-16 ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Championships, expressed delight with having Parchment on board, stating that like Fraser-Pryce, he embodies the message that the conglomerate embraces; a pursuit for academic and sporting excellence.
"I am very excited about having Hansle Parchment on board with us," Wehby said. "In fact, we met with Hansle prior to the Olympic Games and we started the discussions of bringing him on board as a brand ambassador, but we just finalised it recently, because he has been busy with Olympics and the European circuit after that."
Parchment, the national record holder over the 110m hurdles, has enjoyed a steady rise up the ranks, following up his World University Games gold and Olympic bronze medal with a professional contract with German sports goods manufacturers PUMA.
