Patrons turned out in droves with their igloos to celebrate the fourth anniversary of one of Jamaica's top beach events, Heineken Igloo.

The white sands and crystal-clear waters of the Ultra Beach Club, Hellshire, St Catherine, were just some of the drawing cards. The musical selections of Coppershot Disco and DJ Kurt Riley made the event a must-go. In addition, the sumptuous and eye-popping cake designed in the form of an igloo packed with Heineken, set the event apart from any other.

By 6 p.m., the sidewalk leading up to the venue was occupied by cars as partygoers made their way to the entrance. At the ticket booth, dozens of anxious patrons waited their turn to purchase tickets, while security personnel asked some patrons to show identification prior to entry, in keeping with Red Stripe's policy to promote responsible drinking.

Breathtaking cake

Once on the inside, it was hard to remain stationary as the music being played at the Heineken booth kept patrons dancing. At approximately 7 p.m., all eyes were glued to the front of the DJ booth as the Heineken representatives showed off the breathtaking cake. Minutes later, the cake was cut with promoters of the event and shared with patrons.

Patrons enjoyed every bite of the 'sinfully' delicious treat.

Among the songs that required several 'pull-ups' were Chronixx's Behind Curtain, Aidonia's Tan Tuddy and 6:30 and Konshens' Sidung.

According to the organizers, the event had once again lived up to expectations.

"As proud sponsors of this event we say 'Happy fourth anniversary', and we look forward to delivering bigger and better things for our loyal patrons at the next instalment," said Heineken Assistant Brand Manager Andrew Anguin.

It was close to midnight when the majority of the patrons began to reluctantly make their way towards the exit, signalling the end of another highly successful Heineken Igloo event.
