Teen on murder rap released

The teenager who was held in connection with the stabbing death of another was ordered released by the St Catherine Children's Court on Thursday.

The 15-year-old was being held for the death of Tafarel Harvey, a 16-year-old of Jose Marti Technical High School.

The boy was ordered released after it was revealed that he had been in custody for 20 days and was not brought before the court.

No statement was presented to the court in connection with the matter.

The boy was then ordered released by the presiding magistrate.

It is alleged that on February 8, the 16-year-old was reportedly stabbed during a fight with the teen.

He was taken to the Linstead Hospital where he subsequently died.

Investigations by the Bog Walk police resulted in the boy's arrest.

Thomas was defended by attorney-at-law Earl Hamilton.
