Two caught red-handed during sting operation

Two men who were held by operatives from Knightsman Security Limited as they reportedly broke into a Smokeyvale St Andrew, home are to appear in the Home Circuit Division of the Gun Court next Tuesday.

The police have not released the names of the men as they are still carrying out investigations into a number of break-ins in the Red Hills area of St Andrew. The police are expected to charge the men with two counts of housebreaking and one count of burglary.

The men were held recently during a sting operation carried out by Knightsman Security Limited at the Smokeyvale, St Andrew home that was robbed three times in two weeks.

On two occasions, thieves made off with a safety vault containing a firearm as well as household items. But on the third occasion, a trap was set for the men. On the very night that a tactical security team was posted at the home, the men struck and were caught without incident. The men were turned over to the police.

Founder of Knightsman Limited, Anton Young lauded his men, who carried out the operation without a shot being fired. "Our highly trained tactical team acted professionally and executed a plan that led to the apprehension of two men who we believed had been plaguing the community of Smokeyvale and its environs, without any incidence of violence," he said.

Young added, "The way in which our operatives carried out the task is a testament to industry-specific training and knowledge, as also the interface between the private and public-security forces."
