The retired superintendent told the congregation while making the presentation to church pastor Reverend Dr Roy Owens, that she and her siblings grew up in the Sanguinetti church. She said they benefited from that church as youngsters growing up. Hence, they came together to donate a total of $86,000 in memory of their late mother. She stressed that their successes can be attributed to the foundation laid by their parents who were members of the church before they both passed away; and they believe that they should give back to their home church. "We were all brought up in this church and we worshipped here for several years with our parents. So we have seen it fit to donate this money to the church in honour of our mother who was a foundation member," said McDonald-Barker. In expressing thanks on behalf of his congregation, Reverend Dr Owens said he appreciated the gift given by the McDonalds, and pledged that the money would be used to continue the tremendous work of God at the church. "We really appreciate this gift given by the McDonalds in honour of their mom," said the pastor. |
