Man who stabs senior citizen remanded

A 24-year-old labourer will know his fate on March 19 after he was remanded on Friday for allegedly stabbing a senior citizen under his arm with a knife.

Charged with unlawful wounding is Carson Walker from Maverly, St Andrew. He has denied the allegations.

The court was told that on the day in question, the accused ran after the elderly man then cut him under his arm.

The complainant, who was present in court, told Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey, "your honour him tek a set pan mi ina Maverly ... everyday him a beg mi money and more time mi tell him mi nuh have it ... from mi run him from baba place him want do mi tings."

The court heard that in September of last year, Walker allegedly chased the complainant from Maverly to a stop light on the main road and stabbed him.

The medical report is outstanding.

Walker was also ordered by Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey to give his fingerprints to the police.
