A Clarendon man was made $7,000 poorer after being fined for disorderly conduct and using indecent language. He is Rowel Anderson of St Catherine address. When the matter came up in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday, Anderson pleaded guilty. "I am guilty, Your Honour, but only because I want to done with it and go home to my girl whom I have not seen for six months," Anderson said Attorney-at-law Roy Stewart spoke on behalf of the accused. He told the court to be lenient with Anderson so that he could join his visiting 'lover'. Anderson was fined $5,000 or 10 days for disorderly conduct and $2,000 or 10 days for using indecent language. Allegations are that about 11 a.m. yesterday, the accused was entering the court building. He was stopped by District Constable Michael Esson and told to fix his clothes before entering. He uttered an indecent language when the policeman insisted he fixed his clothes, and added "No bwoy can't lock mi up." He was then arrested and charged. |
