COPS FIGHT AT POLICE STATION

SHELDON WILLIAMS, Staff Reporter

A special constable is now nursing an injury to his finger after he was reportedly bitten until it bled during a fight between himself and his colleague at the Mandeville Police Station recently.

THE STAR was reliably informed that the fight occurred after one special constable accused the other of stepping on him without apologising.

"Special constable beg squaddy not to eat his finger," an eyewitness said.

Our news team was told the fracas took place last Friday in full view of other police officers.

It is understood that one of the constables might have accidentally stepped on the foot of the other but was reluctant to offer an apology which angered his colleague.

After pausing for a few seconds, in anticipation of being told sorry, the 'victim' realised that his colleague showed no remorse.

He then reportedly took matters into his own hands.

" The special then started throwing blows on his colleague. He was frightened and attempted to ward off the blows. It was then that the special bit on to one of his fingers and held on to it until blood was seen coming from his mouth, " the source remarked.

The injured cop was taken to seek medical treatment by his colleagues.

Our news team was told that neither of the special constables were charged as restitution was agreed upon.

The matter was reported to the commander in charge of The Island Special Constabulary Force(ISCF) in Manchester.

However, Commander Georgia Williams told our news team that she was unaware of the incident.

Calls to the cellphone of Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth, who heads the Manchester Police Division, went unanswered.
