Spanish Town: Up to late last night three men who are residents of a St Catherine community accused of being homosexuals were still at a police station after they were attacked by an angry mob. The Star was informed that police personnel from the Old Harbour police in St Catherine had to rush to the group's rescue after they were attacked and beaten for behaving 'strangely' in the housing development. Reports are that about 5 p.m., the police were called to New Harbour Village Phase One. Upon the arrival of the police party, three males were observed in distress. It was revealed that one of the men suffered a fractured arm during the incident. Persons told The Star that the men were warned to stop behaving improperly. "Is angry di people dem get angry. Dem dress up like girl and do some ungodly tings. People fed up," a resident said. While the men are being held in protective custody, there are concerns as there are threats to do serious damage if they return. The Old Harbour police are conducting further investigations in the matter.
