Man gets two years for robbing woman

A man who has been accused of robbing a woman with an imitation firearm, before luring her onto a lonely road recently, has been sentenced to two years in prison.

Charged with illegal possession, robbery with aggravation, abduction and assault with intent to rape is Ronaldo Parkes.

Parkes, from Kingston 14, was sentenced by Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Allegations are that on September 8, Parkes used an imitation firearm to hold up and rob the female complainant of her cellular phone and $1,780.

It is alleged that Parkes then forced the woman onto a lonely road and told her that he was going to rape her.
